While working an internship part time temporarily for a two months in an Atlanta apartment while trying to balance being a music producer part time I was forced to become a “laptop producer” ( a bare-bones laptop setup with a DAW and a pair of AKG 701 headphones). Working on music was tough from a mixing perspective because I wasn’t used to the frequency response and the depth of the mix using only headphones and I didn’t have the space for the large reference monitors. Luckily I found out about Audality and heard about the new WiC technology.
What initially drew me in was the capability to produce wirelessly using the USB transmitter connected to a pair of speakers. Essentially a pop up studio for producers. In my case I have a pair of S3’s that I used as reference monitors and of course for the recreational music listener they serve the purpose of great speakers as well.
At first, I was skeptical about latency and the audio quality. These are common issues with Bluetooth and WiFi and the reason why all state of the art reference monitors require cable in connection in order to achieve both: low latency and uncompressed audio.
Audality has solved both of these issues and has arguably out performed many of the heavy hitter speaker brands that are known for excellent transparent flatline sound quality. At home, I have a pair of Yamaha HS8 speakers in a contained environment that work well for mixing.
Audality's Patented WiC technology enables musicians, producers, and engineers to use the technology they are well acquainted with but wirelessly without any latency. While mixing on the S3’s, I can easily hear the effects and fine details such as how much tape distortion I decide to add on my drum bus, and this has allowed me to make more conscious mixing decisions and stepped up my game overall thanks to Audality.
Audality is known for excellent flat-line frequency response and this has grabbed the attention of music producers and the best part… you can produce wirelessly using only our USB transmitter and a pair of your favorite Audality speakers. Forget having wires and an audio interface plugged into your computer. The days of having to go the music studio to produce and mix tracks are over. We now have portable flat-line sound: Music production and engineering has never been more flexible and allows for you to get out of the studio and produce on the go!
It’s essential for producers and engineers to have full transparency and a flat frequency response in order to make tracks sound great on a club sound system and at the same time sound great on an iPhone. Engineers are turning to Audality products to help get that job done. The Audality S3 speakers are now my go to reference monitors while on the go and I would recommend them to the general consumer and producers and engineers.
